Oakesdale is a small town located in the Palouse region of Whitman County, Washington, United States. According to the US Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.56 square miles, all land. As of 2019, the population of Oakesdale was estimated to be around 425 people. Oakesdale is known for its annual Oakesdale Lions Club Bluegrass Festival which is held every August. The economy of the town is mainly based on agriculture, with wheat farming being the major activity. The town also has some small businesses such as a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant. Oakesdale is served by the Oakesdale School District which comprises a K-12 school.
